In 2009, Kinh Do continued to excel in its corporate social responsibility when the group emerged as one of the top sponsors of charitable and social events as follows:
For the nine consecutive years, Kinh Do had sponsored the “Dynamic – Students Are Future Entrepreneurs” competition organized by the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.
Kinh Do covered the sponsorship of the first Vietnam SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise” National Competition in 2009. A large number of students from tertiary schools based in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi competed in applying their knowledge to train the community and help them understand how the market operates and how to improve their existing business and change their lives.
Kinh Do acted as the main sponsor for the “Street of Flowers” on Nguyen Hue Boulevard during the Lunar New Year 2010. This event was the joint effort by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and Saigontourist Holding Company to further introduce the festive and colorful atmosphere of Tet in Vietnam to citizens as well as local and foreign visitors.
The “Kinh Do Golf Tournament 2009” took place, raising significant funds for a host of meaningful social activities run by the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front and the Ho Chi Minh City Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients.
Kinh Do was a great supporter of the sports events hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF), particularly amateur activities.
Kinh Do funded equipment of a computer lab at Thach An Secondary School in Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City. This is one of the primary social activities that the group is involved to participate in taking care of young people – owners of the future.
Kinh Do closely worked with the National Fund for Vietnamese Children, the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front, the Red Cross of Ho Chi Minh City and relevant agencies over organizing trips to poor families nationwide to donate gifts to them, especially students and children on the occasion of Tet and Mid-Autumn Festivals and International Children’s Day.
Kinh Do cooperated with Youth newspaper on a community program called “Helping Students in Flood-hit Areas to Come Back to Their Schools” for those students in the areas ravaged by Storm No. 9.
In addition, Kinh Do was one of the main sponsors of various major events, including “Honoring the Typical Saigon Entrepreneurs 2009” on Vietnamese Entrepreneur’s Day on October 13, the Food and Drinks Exhibition organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Food and Foodstuff Association, the Cholon Fair 2009 run by the Chinese Vietnamese Affairs Commission in Ho Chi Minh City.
